Here are a couple of photos from my hometown my brother sent me. Any ideas on what the cars are, obviously, besides the MX-5?

Opel Speedster.

I think it’s the Vauxhall VX220, or the Opel variant if that's a German plate.

The red one is definitely a Vauxhall VX220, but I don’t know about the black one.

Vauxhall VX220 or whatever the Opel variant is (if there is one).
To the US and Canada I believe this would be the Saturn Skyy.

That be a Vauxhall VX220 or one 9f it’s badge engineered siblings.

Red is a Vauxhall VX220

The red one looks like a Vauxhall VX220, which is based on the Lotus Elise, with the chrome V grill removed:
Not sure what the other one is.

not even close.
the saturn was the soltice. front ening, RWD.
this was mid engined. IIRC, it pretty much a lotus in disguise and with a GM motor

That black one looks like a Prodrive P2, which never entered production...

Actually yes, I realized that after posting, that the red one is probably an Opel Speedster.

Definitely not a prodrive. everything is too wrong but the round tail lights. looks old and has a back seat as well..

The one in the driveway looks like an MG XPower SV but not quite.

Agreed. A Pontiac was my first car, I still miss them.

it’s a GTM Libra.

it has to be. something don’t add up but the tail lights, rear side windows and trunk deck match perfectly.

You’re right about the Vauxhall VX220 / Opel Speedster being different from the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, but I wouldn’t say they’re “not even close”. The Sky was sold in Europe as the Opel GT, which was a direct replacement for the Opel Speedster.
The Speedster, VX220, Solstice, and Sky all use variants of the same Ecotec engine.
You are also correct in that the Speedster & VX220 were based on the Elise and built by Lotus.

Vauxhall VX220 I believe...?
![]() 11/05/2015 at 19:09 |

I think it's a Lambo, Dude.

Right, I definitely mixed those up. I must have been thinking of the Opel GT/Speedster being the same vehicle when they’re two different configurations.

Seems like you’re right. Never heard of this though!

It is a British Kit Car. I only kow about it because I used to see one all the time.
